Kuala Lumpur was founded in 1857 as a tin mining outpost. Kuala Lumpur is fairly new as far as Malaysian cities go and lack the Diverse history of the older cities like Penang or Malacca.
After rough early years marked by gang fighting, Kuala Lumpur began to prosper and was made capital of the Federated Malay States in 1896. Malaysia's independence was declared in 1957 in front of big crowds at what was later named Stadium Merdeka (Independence Stadium). Kuala Lumpur continued to prosper and grow as the new nation's capital. The economic boom of the 1990s brought KL the customary trappings of a contemporary city now bristling with skyscrapers and modern transportation systems.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Kuala Lumpur City Center -\u00a0Golden Triangle<\/b>\u00a0<\/strong>is a multipurpose development area and at the center is Petronas Towers.\u00a0 There are a variety of shopping complexes like Suria KLCC and Avenue K. There are Many Kuala Lumpur hotels within walking distance of Great Restaurants Shopping and Entertainment.<\/p>\n

Brickfields<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 This area, located south of the town center, is Kuala Lumpur\u2019s Little Republic of India crammed with frock retailers and banana leaf rice restaurants. Kuala Lumpur\u2019s main railway station, KL Sentral, is located here.<\/p>\n

Bangsar and Midvalley<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Located south of the town, Bangsar is a popular eating place and clubbing district whereas Midvalley, with its Megamall, is one of the city\u2019s most well-liked shopping destinations.<\/p>\n

Damansara and Hartamas<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Largely residential area, these two districts to the west of the townhouse some tastebud-grabbing pockets of restaurants and drinking areas. This district also merges into the northern half of Petaling Jaya.<\/p>\n

Ampang<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Located east of the town, Ampang is home to Kuala Lumpur\u2019s Little Korea and most of the foreign embassies.<\/p>\n

Northern suburbs<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 This huge space to the north of the center of KL is home to many natural wonders attractions, such as the Batu Caves, the National Zoo, and the Forest Analysis Institute of Malaysia.<\/p>\n

Southern suburbs<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 This district may not interest travelers too much, although Kuala Lumpur\u2019s National Construction and National Sports stadiums Bukit Jalil and Putrajaya are placed here.<\/p>\n
