Travel London\u00a0<\/strong>is a Journey in History. London is a city steeped in history going as far back as Roman Times. London was at one time the central hub of all trading done around the British empire. Ships from all over the world would come to London delivering valuable goods such as tea and jewels from India to sugar cane from the Caribbean.<\/p>\n

Modern day London has turned into the financial business center for the United Kingdom and much of the world. London is also a huge tourist destination for people all around the world. Many Americans, Canadians, and Australians come to the city to trace their ancestral routes.<\/p>\n

The city also has landmarks that date back through London's long history that was constructed at different points in British history. The architecture that you\u2019ll find throughout the city is Georgian,\u00a0<\/strong>Victorian,\u00a0<\/strong>Edwardian,\u00a0Art Nouveau,\u00a0<\/strong>Art Deco, and\u00a0<\/strong>Modern. <\/strong>From the spectacular Houses of Parliament and Big Ben to the majesty of The Shard. London is also fortunate enough to have acres of green space, with Hyde Park and Regent\u2019s Park giving a delightful breather from the city.<\/p>\n

The Tower of London and Tower Bridge<\/h3>\n

Whilst you\u2019re in the city you\u2019ll have the opportunity to visit the Tower of London<\/strong> which is located by the river Thames. Otherwise known as the \u2018Tower\u2019 this has played host to many enemies of the state through Britain\u2019s history. Even royalty of the past that were considered to be threats to the monarch and the nation.<\/p>\n

You can also walk across the bridge next to the Tower of London which is called Tower Bridge<\/strong>, the bridge was constructed back in Victoria times over 100 years ago and has an architectural theme to it which you must see for yourself.<\/p>\n

Houses of Parliament and Big Ben<\/h3>\n

Another famous place to visit is the Houses of Parliament<\/strong> which is where the country is run from. You can attend debates, watch committee hearings or take tours inside one of the world\u2019s most iconic buildings. Through the tours, you\u2019ll be able to observe beautiful works of arts from both paintings, statues of Britain\u2019s iconic figures who have influenced how the country is run to this day. Even the building itself has an architectural tone and rhythm to it. \u00a0<\/p>\n

Connected to the Houses of Parliament is the huge clock tower called Big Ben<\/strong>. Big Ben stands just under a hundred meters high (315ft) right on the edge of the river Thames. Londons Big Ben was built over 150 years ago during the Victorian times. Believe it or not, the minute hand of the giant clock weighs about 100 kgs (220 Ibs). You can\u2019t come to London and not have a selfie with this British iconic image.<\/p>\n

The London Eye<\/h3>\n

Probably one of the things everyone wants to do when they visit London. First opened to the public in the year 2000, it attracted around 30 million visitors by the year 2008. The London Eye<\/strong> has become a symbol of the city of London, it\u2019s now used as a display for launching the fireworks on the midnight of New Year\u2019s Day each year.<\/p>\n

The London eye towers over the south bank of the river Thames at 135 meters (443ft) high. From the top, you have a spectacular view of the great city of London. Travel London Night Life<\/h3>\n

Things only get more and more interesting in London after the sun goes down. Just a few venues you can expect to see open during the night time are comedy clubs, live music venues and caf\u00e9s serving after dinner drinks. Also highly recommend is for you to check out a live performance at one of the theatre\u2019s scattered across the city but which are mainly found in the famous West End.<\/p>\n
